Rotherham Will Be A Tough Test
Manager John Gregory has said that facing off against sixth place Rotherham this weekend will be a very tough test for Crawley, but he's relishing the challenge that faces us.
Speaking to the Official Site Gregory said he and the players were relishing their first visit to the New York Stadium, and having seen them comfortably win three nil over Shrewsbury Town recently, Gregory knows we are going to have to be at our best to come out with the result we want - but that does go for so many games at this level.
'Rotherham were very impressive. You know what you're going to get with Steve's teams. So it's going to be tough, just like Coventry was. But we got a result there and the lads can't wait for Saturday to come round. They are champing at the bit. We haven't played for two weeks so two games in four days, is just what we're looking for.'
Gregory has only faced off against Evans once before, when he was manager of Queens Park Rangers, and even then it was only for a training ground friendly but they did have a good chat, and his passion for the game is second to non, so for Gregs it's no surprise to see him doing so well with the club.
The gaffer also confirmed that new signing Gary Dicker would be in the squad this weekend and Billy Clarke is also now available following his three match suspension.
Our only absentee remains Dannie Bulman following his fractured cheekbone, but his recovery is going well.
Of course with Evans returning, we don't have the same number of players at the club anymore but there are a few faces who will renew acquaintances and JG knows they will have a point to prove to their old gaffer because that's how it works in football. They'll be looking to get one over on him, and he'll be looking to get one over on them - then at the end of 90 minutes the friendship will be renewed.
