Gregory Adds Brighton Winger

Gregory Adds Brighton Winger

Manager John Gregory has added a second winger to our ranks ahead of today's earlier loan deadline, this time in the shape of Brighton's Jeff Monakana.

The 20 year old is also with us for the next month and goes into the match day squad for the game against Preston North End, which is actually a former club of his.

He moved from Preston to Brighton, and although he's yet to make his first team debut having come through Arsenal's youth ranks, Brighton rate him very highly and will be hoping he does well during his time with us so he can further work his way into their first team plans.

Speaking to the Official Site following his second capture of deadline day, the gaffer said of Monakana.

'Jeffrey is highly rated by Brighton and he has plenty of experience of League One already. He's strong, quick and can deliver a good ball from wide areas and I'm really hoping he can flourish with us over the next month. With eight games during that time he will certainly get the opportunity to impress.'

His previous league experience comes from 47 games at Preston, and a further 11 games whilst on loan at Colchester and he's actually already played against us three times in his career.

Monakana said himself of the move.

'I have played against Crawley and never been on the winning side so hopefully that will change now I'm here. Hopefully I can bring something to the team. I like to take on defenders and get the ball into the box and hopefully score a few goals as well. I'm looking forward to the next month.'
