Gregory Delighted With Leyton Orient Win
Our two one victory over Leyton Orient on Good Friday, obviously delighted manager John Gregory as he has now seen us record three successive victories on the trot, as we bounce back in great style from our run of successive defeats.
Goals from Edwards and Drury gave us the lead twice in the game on Friday evening, and the win has pushed us well up the table again and away from the drop zone as we now sit in 12th place in the division.
Speaking to the press following the match, Gregory couldn't have been happier with our more recent form, explaining.
'This was our third game in seven days and I'm proud of my boys. Playing two games in a week has been a monumental ask and I'm so proud of them. I have 12 players out of contract and they are an incredible bunch to work with. That was very much in evidence.'
Knowing it was a team effort again that helped us to all three points, the gaffer did however pick out centre half Kyle McFadzean for special praise, describing him as being Crawley Town's John Terry, especially as he cleared the ball of the line in the dying seconds of the game to ensure we did take a maximum return again.
Having now no doubt answered our own relegation concerns given the six defeats on the bounce that we did suffer prior to this run, Gregory added that we will continue to go 'flat out' when we face Notts County on Monday and he insisted that our focus would remain on picking up as many points as we could, and finishing as high as we could, stating that we wouldn't 'be doing any favours' for anybody in the remaining matches we face.
It will be another tough match, but hopefully if we can't add a fourth straight victory to our tallies, we can continue to remain unbeaten and build on our recent efforts.
