Tubbs Talks Continue

Matt Tubbs' future isn't at AFC Bournemouth; the big question is could it still be at Crawley again though?

Recently Tubbs seemed to 'cool' the news that he could come back to Crawley on a permanent basis after his loan spell last season that brought him back to the club he had so much success with previously.

Yet another spell with Bournemouth didn't really work our and he's been told he can leave, if this is without a fee then John Gregory had told the Argus that this could yet be with him returning to the club.

The Crawley boss also said that he didn't think that interest would be that strong, from anyone, if a fee was being asked. If it isn't it will be down to the 29-year-old's wage demands.

Gregory said: 'We are still talking with Bournemouth about Matt. I'd like to think he wants to come back but it all comes down to finances.

'It is up to them if they ask for a fee but if they do then, with respect to Matt, I don't think there will be a huge queue of clubs wanting to sign him as there is his salary on top.

'It is a question of whether they are willing to write off some of their investment to ensure there is a longer queue of clubs wanting to sign him.

'He wants to play and Bournemouth would be silly to pay his wages for the next 12 months if he is not in their plans when they could get him off their wage bill, even if they have to take a bit of a hit on it.'

The only certainty at the moment would seem that Tubbs is leaving the championship side, you would have to have doubts as to the finances being in placed for Crawley to bring him back for a second permanent spell wouldn't you?
