Crawley Held By Eastleigh

Crawley Held By Eastleigh

Manager John Gregory saw Eastleigh provide the squad with a fantastic test earlier today at the Silverlakes Stadium.

Crawley started brightly and got themselves into a three one lead in the first half, thanks to two starting debut goals from Gavin Tomlin and a third from Lewis Young, but Eastleigh gave it their all in the second period and managed to find another two themselves before full time, seeing the game end in an entertaining three all draw.

Crawley did have enough opportunities to increase the goal tally and take the win, but it wasn't to be.

The gaffer made two changes to the side that drew with Brighton in our last match, with Jimmy Smith partnering Josh Simpson in the middle of midfield, and Tomlin was given his first start up front alongside Izale McLeod.

Brian Jensen was given a rest between the sticks and loanee keeper Raphael Spiegel was brought in.

Injuries ruled out Matt Harrold, Bradley Isaacs and Ryan Dickson, and the only trialist on show was defender Craig Robson.
