Gregory Shoulders The Blame
Crawley's unbeaten run came to an end last night as we lost three one to Bradford, and manager John Gregory admitted he should've made different choices on the night.
Speaking to the WS County Times following the game, the gaffer admitted that recent games had taken it's toll on the side, especially extra time in the Cup win over Ipswich, and on the night he didn't make the right substitutions.
'We didn't show our true selves tonight. The last three games have taken a lot out of us. I've got to take a lot of responsibility. I made some substitutions which didn't work. Tonight I didn't make the right decisions from the bench which I should have done.'
With that said the gaffer also rightly pointed out that in games so far he had been making substitutions which were working and helping us to stay in front and take the victories and in true Gregory style he wasn't going to let people forget that, despite his disappointment at his own choices against Bradford.
With him shouldering the blame though, and leaning on the tiredness effect of our recent efforts, he also admitted that we just lacked a spark which was disappointing but otherwise it was a case of Bradford having three real opportunities on the night and they took all of them and 'we got a big punch on the nose'.
